RF is not 'black magic' – It's Synthesis, Optimization, Analysis and Realization.
A fellow just asked me to “write me a short blurb about what you love to do, what you are good at.” I said I would and hung up the phone. Then I went back to what I was doing before the call: messing about with another ‘big’ idea.
And I thought about the question, “___ do you love?”
Because for years I have been telling myself, “Ingalls, you’re a thing person not a people person.” But now it comes down to the very low point of having to admit to myself that I was wrong.
I’m not a thing person, either– unless thoughts are things.NOT me: “You okay?” ME: “I was thinking.” NOT me: “You think too much.” ME: “Show me a person who smiles all the time and I’ll show you an idiot.”
…definitely not a ‘people’ person… :]NOT me: “Your phone is all scratched up…” -or- NOT me: “You have paint on your good shirt…” -or- NOT me: “How do you ever find anything…?” ME: [shrugs] NOT me: “What were you thinking!”
…not a ‘thing’ person, either…
So the thought came to me, “If I don’t know whether to put ‘what’ or ‘who’ in the blank, maybe i should just forget that and think about the rest of the question.
“Do you love?”
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Well, sometimes, I think…
So they said to him, “Who are you? We need an answer! What do you have to say for yourself?”
